Well, it happened on Saturday, November 17. Todd and I were refinishing the basement and decided to take a break in the late morning to go for a hike. We headed up to The Park in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and hiked up to a landing point overlooking the red rock formations and downtown Denver. We had lunch and then Todd announced that today was a very special day...it was our 5 year anniversary and he surprised me with tickets to the theater. Then, he says...that's not it, got down on one knee, said a bunch of stuff I can't really remember and proposed. It was so beautiful!After some celebratory champagne, we hiked down and headed back to Denver. When we get home, there was a HUGE surprise party with 30 of our closest friends!! As soon as I walked in I screamed, my knees buckled and almost fainted (thank goodness Todd caught me).
Later in the evening I was forced to get ready for a night on the town. There were more surprises to come! We left the party and headed downtown where a HORSE AND CARRIAGE AWAITED!!!! We then had a fabulous dinner at the The Palace (where a dozen roses awaited!) After dinner, we were off to the theater and then headed home. I was exhausted and emotionally drained. It was the most magical day of my life and topped even my wildest dreams!!
